I’ve started to take some pictures of the players arriving at the game.
I was just making a move to walk around to the Turf to get some more content when a familiar face came towards me. Ollie Palmer was making a return to the ground where he moved into legendary status. Camera up, snap away………but we live in a fast world and the news will not be news within minutes. In media you need to become the news breaker. I took one more shot, but this time on my phone. Posted online, the resulting hits justified my decision.
Surreal moment when taking shots was hearing a familiar voice whilst shooting. It was the unmistakable voice of Millie, one of the stars of Welcome to Wrexham. I couldn’t see her……..and it took me a while to realise she was on a phone held by her friend as she was unwell. The Wrexham players all stopped to talk to her on the phone, which I found endearing. Get well soon Millie. I miss the “Oh not you” comment every time you see me.
Wrexham won and Ipswich fans were slightly less troublesome than Millwall. And I never imagined I'd be “attacked” by Micky Thomas outside the ground. We’ve got to know each other helping out at the Wrexham Miners Project.
Guitar Olly at the Wrexham City Radio launch
Above is Holly Baker. I’d been tipped off by her Guitar tutor Dale Irving and he was right. This was her first public performance, and once the nerves dissapeared, the skill shone through. Another one to watch.
Dave Kettlewell on the sticks with the Declan Swans.
Scoot, with Jonsie of the Declan Swans.
